Making virtual events distinctive & delicious

October 14, 2020

The 12th Street Catering team has the know-how to make sure event attendees, donors, and sponsors, continue to receive top-notch experiences even as galas, fundraisers, and other social occasions go virtual.

Events have not looked the same over the last few months as the pandemic continues, but our team has continued to innovate and remain ahead of the curve.

We have created customizable menus and flexible shipping options to keep attendees engaged and to guide gala planners in delivering virtual experiences for donors that are of an equal quality to what past years have offered — whether events are elegant black-tie dinners or auction affairs.

We work closely with our clients to discuss their budget needs and their vision for the event in order to deliver the best quality. It’s our job to figure out how we can lend our 40 years of combined experience, passion for great food, and outstanding customer service in the most effective way for each client and each event.

12th Street is currently working on several virtual events that range from 50 guests to as much as 1,000 for clients such as Thomas Jefferson University and events like the Beyond Celiac Foundation Gala.

To make sure meals that attendees receive are of the same quality they would find at in-person events, our team researched and met with multiple packaging partners and landed on the safest — and most attractive — packaging components. This helps ensure all with the same upscale and modern presentation clients have come to expect.

Keeping employees engaged

For many companies, it has been months since staff members have seen each other in person, but the 12th Street Catering team is helping them remain engaged with one another through our Virtual Cooking Classes, where attendees are guided along the way by our executive chef through a live video!

We were inspired by the growing demand from companies to keep employee engagement high and to boost morale. Our Virtual Cooking Classes have become hits — our chefs are engaging, our recipes are unique and easy to follow, and attendees are able to interact with one another during this very hands-on experience.

All guests receive a meal kit complete with ingredients used during the cooking class — the kits can be shipped and delivered to or picked up by each participant.

We’ve made it as simple as possible, including individually packaged and portioned ingredients, and we’ve made sure that we can accommodate dietary restrictions for each menu, so all of your attendees get to enjoy.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our clients, their guests, and our employees. We have implemented COVID guidelines and individually packaged items for full-service events.

For in-person events, our safety practices include acrylic boards with passing trays, safely spaced tables and chairs, plastic barriers on bars or stations, plate covers, and more. To learn more, read our health and safety practices.
