Founder’s Hall @ Girard College
Stephen Girard – merchant, banker, and landowner – was the wealthiest man in America when he died in 1831. In an unprecedented act of philanthropy, he left his fortune to establish Girard College. Through his extraordinary gift, generations of students have received the unique opportunity to live and learn at Girard at no cost to their families. Girard is currently home to over 300 students.
