An Inside Look: Our Easter Drop Off Catering Menu

On April 1st, 2018, many people will gather for food, family, and friends to celebrate Easter Sunday. This is a holiday that embraces the significance of spring- new life, rebirth, and renewal. 12th Street Catering has crafted a drop-off catering menu specifically for Easter that caters to families in Greater Philadelphia wanting less time in the kitchen and more time with their loved ones.

We sat down with 12th Street Catering’s Executive Chef Jon to better understand how the Easter menu was created and what inspiration went into choosing their delicious menu.

Hi Chef Jon! Can you discuss what went into creating the Easter Menu and where you got your inspiration?

This menu is based somewhat on tradition but more on what is usually served in Christian households during the Easter holiday. Our Easter Menu is a bit more flexible and varied, according to what might be served at any given family Easter get together. The 12th Street Catering kitchen is comprised of multicultural chefs that exercise their culinary expertise and bring the foods and traditions of their holidays to our menu repertoire. They have been tested and refined to fit within the parameters of production, delivery and execution for catering.

Elaborate on some of your “standout” dishes and what makes them unique.

Some of the items to take note of are the Wild Mushroom and Leek Bisque, and The Boneless Roast Leg of Lamb with Mint-Currant Chutney. The Strawberry Short Cake will take your breath away and the Carrot Cake is- hands down- the best around.

Both are made in house in our pastry kitchen. Many of these items reflect the bounty of spring; strawberries, asparagus, lamb, chicken, baby new fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and leeks.

Is there anything else you’d like to add about the Easter Menu?

You really can’t go wrong with any of the entrees and sides we offer on this menu. They all complement one another. Our desserts are made in house and are totally delicious.

12th Street Catering’s Easter Drop-off Catering Menu lends itself perfectly for drop-off service in Center City, the Main Line, and Greater Philadelphia. Menu items are fully prepared and are ready to be reheated or served as is. All orders come with explicit reheating and serving instructions.
