At 12th Street Catering, bringing people together through food extends beyond the events we cater. Through 12th Street for Good, we support organizations and initiatives that help our Philadelphia community thrive. Our partnership with Trellis for Tomorrow brings that commitment to life in a garden right outside our West Philadelphia headquarters.
What began as a stretch of pavement is now a place to grow nourishing food, connect with one another and share the harvest with our neighbors. With our first full growing season underway in 2026, we’re celebrating how this partnership has taken root—and the recent news coverage helping share its story.
What Is 12th Street for Good?
12th Street for Good is our commitment to giving back through philanthropy, volunteering and community partnerships. It reflects a belief that hospitality reaches beyond a beautifully prepared meal: it also means caring for the people and places around us.
Our work with Trellis for Tomorrow connects two priorities close to our hearts: food access and sustainability. Growing food where we work creates a practical way to contribute, with each harvest offering something to share.
From Pavement to a Productive Garden in West Philadelphia
In August 2025, Trellis for Tomorrow helped us establish a street-level garden at our headquarters at 3312 Spring Garden Street. Eight raised beds replaced our former rooftop garden, creating a new space for planting and growing.
Our team worked alongside Trellis to plant the first fall crops, including red cabbage, romaine, kale and Swiss chard. That beginning set the stage for a full growing season in 2026.

How Trellis for Tomorrow Supports Community Food Access
Trellis for Tomorrow is a Phoenixville-based nonprofit serving the Greater Philadelphia region. Its Food for All program helps businesses and community organizations establish productive gardens, offering garden design and installation, stewardship support and volunteer education.
Participating partners commit at least half their harvest to local food pantries. The program connects the work of tending a garden with the need for nutritious, locally grown produce. It also gives people a shared project: something they can care for together and see make a difference.

Sharing the Harvest with Our Community
Our garden supports the community around us, with produce also shared with employees and their families. It is one way we can put our commitment to being a good neighbor into practice.
For a catering company, food is part of every workday. The garden offers another way to connect with it, from planting and tending to harvesting and sharing. The value is in what grows, and in the relationships built along the way.
